Farmer's Report

Easter Snow
It really was a beautiful couple of weeks and we all felt the renewal of hope that spring brings. And then, it had to snow. We had a good laugh this morning just to keep ourselves from crying. It looks like the furnaces and the cold weather are with us for a bit longer.

Despite the cold snap, we have had a very productive week. The snap, snow and shelling peas were all planted, the blueberries are being pruned (that's Megan hard at work above) and we planted the first batch of greenhouse tomatoes. It was also the first full week of having our apprentices on the farm and it has been great getting to know them while accomplishing a lot more on the farm.

Our Summer Youth programs are filling up fast. You can click here to find out more about them. We are piloting a couple programs this year for Scouts who can come to the farm to complete their badges and journeys. In addition, homeschooled children can jump in on the fun and learn about the different aspects of a working farm throughout the season. Click here to find out more.

Finally, it's almost Easter! We have plenty of our own hams in the freezer and we have assorted cuts of lamb. Holly will be baking bread for the rest of the week, too! Come on in and get your vittles for the big feast.
